Safety Tips for Traveling Laptops

  • Before you leave, back up your files, photos and music. Remember, it’s more than just your laptop that is stolen.
  • Never ask a stranger to watch your laptop in the waiting areas while you go to the gate counter or bathroom
  • Don’t feel tempted to check your laptop in with your baggage – it’s much safer if you keep it with you.
  • While physical locks can be a deterrent, don’t assume your computer is safe. These can be cut through in a moment.
  • If you have to take a nap in the airport, try to secure your laptop by holding it . Do not leave it on the floor next to you.
